Educators, students and parents need accurate information if they are to make sound decisions about substance abuse prevention programs in their schools. Over 500 communities have incorporated random student drug testing into their comprehensive prevention programs to keep children and adolescents safe, healthy and drug-free. Two historic U.S. Supreme Court decisions support drug testing of students in extracurricular and athletic activities.
